Xiaomi’s first Android One smartphone, the Mi A1 is receiving an OTA update for the latest version of Android, version 8.1 Oreo. Along with the Android version getting bumped up, the phone is also receiving the Android security patch for June 2018. The phone was launched in September 2017, and is the company’s first device to officially run on software other than MIUI.
The phone was launched back in 2017 on Android Nougat, but received the update to Android 8.0 Oreo earlier this year. It’s taken a while, but the phone is now getting Android 8.1 Oreo, and that too with the latest Android security patch as well. Android One devices run on a stock version of the Android UI and are touted to receive software updates and new features quickly.
